Ruby (Age 14, She/Her)

Ruby really is a gem! She loves life to be happy and funny, rising above challenges of epilepsy, and living life to the fullest on the autism spectrum.

She loves things to be in order and as expected. Fast-paced life and quick changes are very hard to understand. Along with her other delays, being sensitive to surroundings makes learning to cope and adapt a necessity. Because her brain and personality do not fit into a typical mold, she is constantly tasked with interpreting situations and remembering how to respond. Things that seem natural or instantly learned for others, may be foreign to her and easily forgotten.

But strength is always part of what seems impossible! Ruby is talented with noticing details, she loves to help, and she loves to sing. The differences she possesses teach people in her path how to see every day as a gift, to see uniqueness as beautiful, and to treat all people as valuable. Her family thinks she is a priceless treasure!
