Sawyer (Age 30, They/She)

Getting my diagnosis at 30 was life-changing, but also a very hard thing to come to terms with. There is a sort of grieving process, and I wondered how my life could have been different if I had been diagnosed earlier. On the other hand, I've really enjoyed getting to know myself all over again, and I can honestly say that I have never loved myself more than I do now.

Every time my autism makes something especially challenging, I lean into what I'm good at. You just have to find your thing and surround yourself with it. Be yourself, and the right people and opportunities will find you.
